About Promoting Harmony - Strengthening Community
The Strengthening Community project will “involve the school and wider community in building strong relationships between all members of the area – staff, students, parents, playgroup families and the elderly ethnic community.
The multifaith program will incorporate: a tour of places of worship (7 religions); a DVD containing a synopsis of 7 religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Sikhism, Hinduism and Baha’i faith); and a visit and presentation by faith leaders.
This is part of a broader program which includes workshops on parenting in a new country; opportunities to visit places of cultural and ethnic interest; development of a garden reflecting the school’s multicultural community around an existing multifaith pagoda; and harmony day events.”
