Be Cyber Smart - DO
and NOT TO DO

Value Education
When we all use the Values, everyone can feel
Happy, safe and able to learn
Caring
Helping other people to feel happy, safe and comfortable
“You look sad, can I help you?”
“I haven’t got anyone to play with.”
“Don’t worry, come and play with me.”
Fairness
Treat all people equally
“Have you had a turn yet?”
“No I’ve been waiting a long time.”
“Go in front of me then, I’ve already had a go.”
Honesty
Tell the truth and be trustworthy
“Look, my MP3 player is broken!”
“I’m sorry, I did that, I should have told you straight away. I’ll buy you a new one.”
Respect
Treat other people how you want them to treat you
“Could you move away a bit please? I feel uncomfortable when you come so close!”
“Okay. I’m sorry, I didn’t realise it would trouble you.”
Self Responsibility
Taking care of your things and accepting the consequences for what you do
“I saw you ripped the book. Why don’t you say you don’t know how it happend”
“No, it was my fault. I will fix it.”
Tolerance
Accepting people who are different to you – don’t expect them to change
“Look at that kid’s hair. It looks weird. He should get it cut.”
“Don’t be silly. AS long as he doesn’t hurt anyone he can have his hair any way he wants.”
